The Sunrise Rotary Scholarship Foundation - Vocational Scholarship:  The Vocational scholarship is open to all graduating seniors of Navarro high School.  Application is in the counselor's office.  Deadline for this scholarship is April 30, 2018.
The Sunrise Rotary Scholarship Foundation - Interact Scholarship:   This scholarship will be awarded to graduating seniors who are members of the Navarro Interact Club.  Application are available in the counselor's office.  Deadline is April 30, 2018.
 
Capital Farm Credit Scholarship:  This scholarship applicant must demonstrate that they have a tentative educational plan and goals, related to fields in agriculture, education, or natural resources (may include Ag Communications, Ag Economics, Ag Economics/Business, Ag education, Wildlife or Ranch management, Education, etc.)  Deadline for this application is April 16, 2018.
 
Xi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship: Application are available in the counselor's office.  Deadline is Friday , April 20, 2018.

Navarro Panther Band Boosters Scholarship Application: The purpose of this scholarship is to assist and reward graduating senior students who are members of the Navarro High School Panther Band and who
demonstrate achievement and leadership in the Navarro High School Band Program while maintaining academic success.  For application, please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline is the 1st Wednesday in April, 2018. 
 
Courtney Orona Memorial Scholarship 2018: This scholarship has been set up in memory of Courtney Orona. Five, $1000. scholarships will be awarded to deserving NISD athletes based on a thorough review of applications, academics and essay.  The Orona family will be reviewing all applications and notifying selected recipients.  Deadline for this scholarship application is 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 12, 2018.  Application and essay should be turned in the counselor's office. 
 
Luling Foundation Trade/Vocational School Scholarship:  This scholarship will be rewarded to one student pursuing a trade/vocational degree/certification from each county served by the Foundation (Caldwell, Gonzales, and Guadalupe).  For application packet and additional information, please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline is March 31, 2018.

Pi Eta Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship:  Seniors the Pi Eta Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi scholarship is available in the counselor's office.  Deadline is  March 30, 2018. 
 
Navarro FFA Booster Club: Shooting Team Scholarship: This scholarship is intended to assist and reward seniors shooting team members who have been a member of the shooting team for a minimum of two years leading up to their graduation.  In addition, member must have competed in at lease one State FFA shoot prior to his/her senior year.  For more information and application, please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline is April 11, 2018 at 4:00PM.

Insurance Women of San Antonio awards scholarships every year to deserving students majoring in Business or a Business related field.  Qualifications are as follows: 1) Fully completed application 2) Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and provide a copy of transcript. 3) Graduating senior or higher 4) Attend a college or university in Texas 5) Major in Business or a Business related field 6) Include autobiography ad statement of career plan 7) Include at least two letters of reference from persons not related to applicant (i.e.: clergy, teacher, counselor, employer, etc).8) Must be a Texas resident and a US citizen.  The Deadline for this Application is April 13, 2018.
 
Four Rivers Association of Realtors Scholarship:  The Four Rivers Association of Realtors gives out twelve $750.00 scholarships annually.  Applicants must be a graduating senior this spring and be planning to attend any 2 year or 4 year technical school, college, or university.  Applications may be picked up in the counselor's office.  Applications MUST be received in the Four Rivers Association of Realtors office by 5 PM , Friday, March 30, 2018.  If you have any questions, please call 830-625-6954 and speak with Lisa Montoya.
   
Taylor Hudson Memorial Scholarship 2018: This scholarship has been set up in memory of Taylor Hudson.  There are three scholarships awards available in the amount of $1,250. each.  The completed application and two essays will be due April 16th, 2018.  Please return application, essays to the counselor's office. 
Erwin-Lee Memorial Scholarship: Two $1,000. scholarships will be awarded (one to an Athlete or Band member and one to a FFA member) For copy of application and requirements, please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline for this scholarship uis April 20, 2018.
 
Allan Dreibrodt Memorial Scholarship:  Allan Dreibrodt was an avid supporter of youth and the 4-H and FFA programs.  He was also an Agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor form 1976 -1982 at Seguin High School. In honor of his memory, the Allan Dreibrodt Memorial Scholarship will continue to support youth involved in agricultural activities. Requirements for this scholarship are: 1) The applicant must be currently enrolled in FFA or 4-H. 2) The applicant must have participated in the Guadalupe County Youth Show for a minimum of 2 years. 3) The applicant must have an overall "B" average. 4) The applicant must graduate from Seguin, Navarro or Marion High School prior to June 30, 2018.  5) The applicant must continue his/her education beyond high school and provide a copy of hi/her registration with the higher education institution to the Allan Dreibrodt Memorial. San Antonio Area Plumbers and Pipefitters Joint Apprenticeship and Training Opportunities: Applications are being accepted for the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters apprenticeship program.  The date and time the Apprenticeship School will be accepting applications will be from Monday, February 19 thru Friday, March 2, 2018 from 8 AM to 11:30 AM and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 3630 Belgium Lane, San Antonio, Texas. If you might be interested in the Apprenticeship and training, please visit the counselor's office for more information.
 

Bandera Electric cooperative Scholarship:  To be eligible for this scholarship 1) applicants parent(s) or legal guardian must be members of Bandera Electric Cooperative or receive BEC service at their residence and provide written verification from the member-owner of the account. 2) Graduating high school seniors must have maintained at least an 80 percent on a 100 present scale. 3) Students currently enrolled in post-secondary educational course work must have maintained a minimum cumulative 2.00 GPA on a 4:00 scale at an accredited four-year university/college, junior college, or TEA-approved trade school.  4) Applicants must meet general admittance requirements of the accredited four-year university/college, junior college or TEA approved trade school to which they apply to receive funds.  For more information and application, please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline for this application is Wednesday, March 1, 2018.

2018 McQueeney Lions Club Scholarships

Application and Submission Rules

The McQueeney Lions Club awards ten (10) $1,500 scholarships per year to deserving, graduating high school seniors in Guadalupe County.  Students’ academic achievements and extracurricular activities in school and in the community are instrumental in students receiving this award.

This application is specific to the McQueeney Lions Club and will be used in consideration of that scholarship ONLY.  Submitting this scholarship application does not guarantee a scholarship.  Therefore, you are encouraged to apply for all financial aid opportunities available to you through other sources, including the financial aid office at the college or university of your choice.

Eligibility Qualifications

  • You must be a high school senior in Guadalupe County.
  • The scholarship must be used for the purpose of study at an academically accredited two or four-year college/university or vocational school.
  • Academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership will be considered in the selection of scholarship recipients.

How to Apply

High school seniors in Guadalupe County are eligible to apply and must submit a completed application, personal essay and transcript.

Essay Preparation

Your scholarship essay is a very important part of your application.  Please prepare an essay describing  your educational aspiration, any academic achievements, community service activities, examples of leadership, or other personal characteristics that make you deserving of this scholarship.  Your essay should be no longer than 500 words.

Payment of Scholarships

  • A check will be issued directly to the institution; $750 will be paid per Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters upon evidence of enrollment/registration.

Seguin Rotary Club Endowed Scholarship: The purpose of the Seguin Rotary Scholarship Program is to recognize outstanding graduating seniors from Seguin, Navarro, Marion and Lifegate High Schools.  Applicants must be actively enrolled in one of the schools listed above.  Applicants will be evaluated primarily on demonstrated academic potential and financial need, but citizenship, extracurricular activities, recommendations of school officials, and other factors may also be considered.  For scholarship details please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline for application is on or before Friday  March 30, 2018.
 
Wade Busby Memorial Scholarship:  This scholarship was formed in 2005 in memory of Wade busby, an avid supporter of the 4-H and FFA programs.  In honor of his memory, the Wade Busby Memorial continues to support youth involved in agricultural activities through their participation in either FFA or 4-H.  Eligibility requirements are: 1) The applicant must be currently enrolled in FFA or 4-H.  2) The applicant must have participated in the Guadalupe County Youth Show, La Vernia Junior Livestock Show or Comal county Junior Livestock Show for a minimum of two (2) years.  3) The applicant must have an overall "B" average.  4) The applicant must graduate from high school prior to June 30, 2018.  5) The applicant must continue his/her education beyond high school and provide a copy of his/her registration with the higher education institution to the Wade Busby Memorial. Seguin Chapter 555 Order of the Eastern Star:   This scholarship is based on A) Need for financial assistance, B) School record - submit a copy of 7 semester transcript, C) Citizenship, Character, Personality - Submit a letter with the application containing autobiographical information, statement of aims and purposes, and a brief comment on financial need.  Completed application must be mailed by April 17th.
    
Texas Burn Survivor Society Scholarship: This organization has a long history of providing assistance to burn survivors and their families.  For more information and  requirements, please visit the counselor's office.  Application deadline is April 27, 2018. 
 
LULAC Council 682 2018 Scholarship Program:  LULAC Council will award scholarships to qualified Hispanic students who are enrolled or are planning to enroll in accredited colleges or universities in the United States.  Eligibility requirements are 1) Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or be granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. (DACA); 2) Must have applied to or be enrolled as a full-time student in a college or university, including 2 year colleges, or vocational schools that lead to an associate's degree. Graduate students must have applied to or be enrolled as a part-time student in a college or university.; 3) A student will note be eligible for a scholarship if he/she is related to a scholarship committee member, the Council President, or an individual contributor to the local funds of the Council.

Texas Telephone Association Foundation Scholarship:  Applications will be accepted for this scholarship through March 30, 2018.  For list of criteria and required materials please visit the scholarship book in the counselor's office.  Special consideration will be given to students who will be pursuing a college degree in fields of study which are of particular interest to telecommunications (such as math, business, education, technology, engineering, and computer science, etc.).
 
Navarro Athletic Booster Club Scholarship Application:  Eligibility Requirements: 1) Parental or Athlete involvement in the Booster Club Activities is required to qualify for the scholarship (i.e. concession duties, attend meetings, assist in fundraising, etc.)  2) Must be a member of the athletic booster club for at least two years. 3) Must be in Navarro High School Sports Athletics, for additional requirements and application, please come by the counselor's office.  Deadline for application is April 4, 2018.
 

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship: NursingSchoolsAlmanac.com has just launched its fourth annual Aspiring Nurses Scholarship.  They will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a future nurse in the high school graduation class of 2018.  Scholarships are awarded to applicants who best demonstrate 1) A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics; 2) A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare.  This scholarship competition is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN/LVN, ADN, and BSN programs.  Applications will be accepted until midnight on August 31, 2018.  Interested students may visit https://www.nursingschoolalmanac.com and click the banner on the right side for more information and details.

Preceptor Beta Epsilon XP 886 Scholarship:  Qualifications for this scholarship are 1) must be a senior in high school, 2) must have attended Seguin or Navarro High school for at least one full year, 3) must have a GPA of 80 or above ; 4) must have a need for financial assistance 5) must return completed application and three teacher evaluations (forms attached to application) to counselor by March 20, 2018. 6) recipient cannot be in the immediate family of Preceptor Beta Epsilon member.  Deadline is March 20, 2018.

Tammy McKinny Memorial Scholarship:  The criteria for student selection are: A) Graduating senior planning to enter a Texas Trade School, College, or University.  B) Student must be in top 50% of class.  3) Special consideration will be given to students who are members of the Texas High School Rodeo Assn. (THSRA), or other rodeo associations and to students committing to agriculture related programs.  However, selection is not limited to those students.  For more information on this one time $500. scholarship, please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline for application is on of before March 28th, 2018.

New Braunfels Area Car Club Scholarship – The New Braunfels Area Car Club Scholarship provides graduating seniors the opportunity to continue education in a field related to the automobile industry. Applicants must be a resident of the area covered by membership in the New Braunfels Area Car Club (Comal and Guadalupe counties).

2018 Scholarships

Bandera Electric Cooperative Scholarships –  Applications are open NOW. Applications close at midnight, March 21, 2018.

The Bandera Electric Cooperative scholarship program was established in 1998 to encourage and assist in the educational pursuits of members and their immediate family members or applicants who reside in the service area.

Parents or legal guardians must be members of Bandera Electric Cooperative or receive BEC service at their residence and provide written verification from the member-owner of the account.
* Graduating high school seniors must have maintained at least 80 percent on a 100 percent scale.
* Students currently enrolled in post-secondary education course work must have maintained a minimum cumulative of 2.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale at an accredited four-year university/college, junior college, or TEA-approved trade school.

Greater Randolph Area Trail Riders Association Scholarship:  To qualify for a GRA-TRAils scholarship, applicants will need to be a high school senior and already accepted as a full time student or currently enrolled under-graduate college student; have a 3.0 grade point average or higher; and be involved with horses or a community agricultural group of some type.  For more information and application, please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline is March 15, 2018.

Texas Legislative Conference Scholarship Guidelines: This is a one time $1,000. scholarship.  Recipients must plan to attend a college, university or trade school in Texas; a minimum of 12 hours must be taken in the semester.  The scholarship goal is to encourage and assist students to fulfill their educational endeavors I the field of government and/or public service (policeman, fireman, lawyer, teacher, military, etc.)  These guidelines will be used  to determine eligibility and to evaluate applications:  1) Must be a senior who has taken government classes is eligible to apply; 2) Student must plan to attend a college, university or trade school in Texas and concentrate in government and or public service to include but not limited to Political Science, Public Administration, Legal Studies, Law Enforcement, Military Service, Firefighter Training, Education, Non profit management and Public Safety; 3) The student must have an overall "B" average. HSF Scholarship is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a college degree.  Awards are based on merit; amount range from $500 to $5000, based on relative need, among the Scholars selected.  Eligibility requirements: 1) Must be of Hispanic Heritage; 2) Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a r.0 scale (or equivalent) for High School Students; 3) Plan to enroll Full-Time in an accredited, not-for-profit, 4-year University or graduate school during the Fall of a scholarship cycle; 4) U.S. Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen; 5) Complete FAFSA or state based financial aid application.  To apply go to hhtps://ww.hsf.net/scholarship.

Central Texas School Food Service Directors Association Scholarship is available through the CTSFSDA to students from member districts and/or relatives of CTSFSDA members. In order to apply to be considered, the following documents must be submitted. 1) completed application; 2) A professional letter of reference from a supervisor, employer or school official; 3) A personal letter of reference (non relative); 4) Copy of transcript from most current school or university.  Applications are available in the counseling center. Jacob Riley Springs memorial Scholarship: This scholarship has been set up in memory of Jacob Riley Springs.  This award in the amount of $500.-$1,000, will be given to a deserving student based on community service in which the student has participated during his/her high school career at Navarro High School, as well as college goals, acceptance, and financial need.  For copy of application, please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline is April 27, 2018.

The Texas Dept. of Transportation offers a Conditional Grant Program to eligible students pursuing a degree in civil engineering or a department-approved operational business discipline.  The Conditional Grant Program will consider both Texas public and private four year institutions.  Students accepted into the program receive up to $3,000 per semester or $6,000 per academic year for tuition, based on financial need.  The application may be downloaded at : hhtp://ftp.dot.state.tx.us/pub/txdon-info/hrd/cgp-application.pdf; complete and mail application to Texas Department of Transportation, HRD/Employment Opportunities/CGP, 125 East 11th Street, Austin, Tx . 78701-2483. Application must be posted marked prior to March 1st, 2018.

Guada-Coma Independent Cattleman's Association Scholarship: To qualify for this scholarship you must 1) be a graduating high school senior who will be pursuing a degree in an Ag related field; 2) Parents or Grandparents must be members of Independent Cattleman's Association; 3) Must include a copy of current High School Transcript and resume; 4) Include one letter of recommendation. Deadline for this scholarship is April 16, 2018. Applications are in the counselor's office.

Guadalupe county Texas A & M University Mothers' Club Scholarship:  The Guadalupe County Aggie Moms' scholarship is awarded to graduating high school students who will attend Texas A & M University at College Station or Galveston as full time students.  For application and more information, visit the counselor's office.  Deadline for the Aggie Moms scholarship is Feb. 15, 2018

Seguin Elks Lodge, NR 1229 Scholarship:   This award is based on financial need, scholastics, leadership and extra-curricular activities, and evidence of good character traits provided in the application data and supporting documents.  Please visit the counselor's office for application.  Deadline for this application is April 30, 2018.

Kiwanis Club of Seguin Scholarship : Applicants must be in their senior year of high school and must complete fifty (50) hours of volunteer service. For application and information visit the counselor's office.  Deadline is March 23, 2018 

Attention Seniors planning to attend The University of Houston....The Frontier fiesta Association is offering multiple scholarships to incoming freshman students who will be attending the University of Houston in the Fall of 2018 semester.  The scholarship application requires: 1: Completed Application 2: Unofficial transcript with cumulative GPA 3: List of extracurricular activities and achievements 4: a 500 word essay describing your leadership roles and how you have given back to your community 5: Two Letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with your leadership abilities and community involvement.  To apply visit http://www.uh.edu/fiesta/ under the scholarship page.  Deadline is February 15th, 2018.

Texas Engineering Foundation Scholarship;  TSPE will award scholarships to students studying to become engineers in an engineering program at an ABET college or university.  (a list of colleges or university is in the counselor's office). Panther Posse Scholarship:  The Navarro Panther Posse is accepting application for the 2017-18 Scholarship.  The Posse will be awarding five - $1,000 scholarships to qualified applicants.  Qualification are: 1) 3.0 GPA or Better; 2) At least one varsity letter ( including cheerleader letter); 3) Must be attending college in the fall of 2018; 4) Must submit a brief essay on "what participating in Navarro sports has meant to them".  Deadline is Feb. 28, 2018.  Please turn in the completed application to the counselor's office.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award: Are you a middle level or high school student who's making a difference through volunteer service?  If this is you, stop by the counselor's office and see if you qualify for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award.  Application deadline is November 7, 2017.    

ACT Student Champion Award: ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, plaque, and state - level recognition. Students who have taken the ACT and fit the following criteria can apply.   1) A student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions. 2) Student must have a composite ACT score of a 22 on a single test date or a 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale. 3) Preference will be given to underrepresented and/or first-generation college student.  Application can be found at www.act.org/readinesschampionsApplication are due December 31, 2017, and champions will be notified on or before April 2, 2018. 

American College Foundation Visionary Scholarship:  All High School Students are eligible to apply. 

The Sons of the Republic of Texas; Texas History Essay Contest.  Eligibility: Graduating Seniors in any High School or Home School may enter.  Senior students in History, English and Government classes are encouraged to participate. This years essay topic is "Sam Houston and Texas independence". For rules and criteria, please visit the counselor's office.  Deadline is January 31, 2018. 

Catholic Life Insurance Scholarship for graduating high school seniors: This All American Scholarship is offered to Catholic Life Insurance members who are graduating high school and entering a college , university or trade school in fall 2018.  If you are a Catholic Life Insurance member, please stop by the counselor's office for an application.  Deadline is March 1, 2018.

Texas Student Housing Scholarship Application is in.  If you plan on attending Austin, college Station, or Denton , Texas and have not signed off-campus housing leases ; this scholarship is for you.  Pick up your application and additional information at the counselor's office.  Application Deadline is January 31, 2018. 

Take Care of Texas Video Contest:  The TCEQ and Waste Management of Texas, Inc. invite 6th to 12th grade students in Texas to submit a 30 second video that portrays positive ways Texans can help keep our air and water clean, conserve water and energy, or reduce waste.  Three 9th - 12th grade students will win scholarship funds and three 6th - 8th grade students will win GoPro camra packages.  The contest runs from Sept 5, 2017 to December 15, 2017. For more exciting details or to sign up for our e-mails list, visit <TakeCareOfTexas.org/video=contest>, or visit the counselor's office.

 Guadalupe County Farm Bureau George Washington Scholarship:  This scholarship is open to Graduating High School Seniors of Guadalupe County.  Student must be ranked in the upper 50% of class; demonstrate qualities of leadership, citizenship and good character.
