Tammy McKinny Memorial Scholarship: Criteria for student selection: A. Graduating senior planning to enter a Texas School, College, or University. B. Student must be in top 50% of class. C. Special consideration will be given to students who are members of the Texas High School Rodeo Assn. (THSRA), or other Rodeo Associations and to students committing to Agriculture related programs.  HOWEVER, selection is not limited to those students. Application are in the counselor's office. GUADA-COMA INDEPENDENT CATTLEMEN'S ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP: For this graduating high school senior who will be pursuing a degree in an Ag related field; Parents or Grandparents must be members of Independent Cattleman's Association; Must include a copy of current High School transcript and resume; a letter of recommendation.  Deadline is April 16, 2020.

 

Panther Posse Scholarship: Minimum Qualifications are: 3.0 GPA or better; at least on e varsity athletic letter (including cheerleading); Must be attending college in fall of 2020; Must submit a brief essay on "what participating in Navarro sports has meant to them." Applications are due to the counselor by 3/31/2020.

Central Texas School Food Service Directors Association Scholarship: Applications are available in the counselor's office.  Deadline is March 25, 2020.

 

Seguin Rotary Club Endowed Scholarship: This is a Vocational or Academic Scholarship.Applicants must be int the top 20% of their high school graduating class for the academic scholarship. No class rank is required for a vocational or technical scholarship. Applications for this scholarship are available in the counselor's office.  Deadline for the scholarship is March 27th, 2020.

 

Four Rivers Association of Realtors Scholarship: Applicants must be a graduating senior this spring and be planning to attend any 2-4 year technical school, college, or university within 1 year of graduation.  For application please visit the counselor's office or got to www.FourRiversREALTORS.com .  Deadline for this application is April 1, 2020.

 

For the second consecutive year, H-E-B will award 15 high school seniors who participated in UIL competitions with a $2,000 scholarship in recognition of their community service and involvement in their communities. Please have any applicants who meet the criteria below submit their application to SportsInAction.com by no later than Feb. 14, 2020:

 

  • Minimum 3.3 GPA
  • Number of Community Service Hours completed in the last 12 months
  • Community Service Verification Letters to document the number of hours submitted
  • A Letter of Recommendation
  • A Short Essay (500 words or less) on the topic: “What does Community mean to you?”

 

There will be 15 total winners – 5 each in music, academics and athletics – and each will be awarded $2,000 from H-E-B. An announcement of the winners will be March 14, 2020.

Guadalupe County Texas A & M University Mothers' Club 2020 Scholarship.  The following criteria have been established for the selection of recipients: 1) must be a graduating high school senior who will attend Texas A & M University in the fall as a full time student or currently enrolled Texas A & M University full-time student.  2) 12 hours with GPA of 2.0 or higher 3) student has not previously received scholarship from TAMU mothers' club 4) must be graduating from a Guadalupe County high school 5) applicant must be accepted to Texas A & M University by application deadline to apply for this scholarship. 6) Blinn Team students are eligible to apply. 7)Past applicants who have not received this scholarship are encouraged to reapply.  Deadline is February 1, 2020.  Applications are in the counselor's office.
 
Luling Foundation Agricultural Scholarship: This scholarship is in the amount of $2,000 to be dispersed over the fall and spring semesters of the student's freshman year. (The Luling Foundation will rovide a total of $1,000 to each student recipient; a matching grant has been established through the Margaret Steiner Endowment.) It is not renewable.  It will be rewarded to one student pursuing an agriculture related degree form each county served by the Foundation (Caldwell, Gonzales, and Guadalupe). Eligibility: the applicant must: A. be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.  B. be a resident of Caldwell, Gonzales, or Guadalupe County.  C. have at least an average academic record. D.have a good conduct record. E. have a high school degree or equivalent. F. attend a Texas College or university and participate in a curriculum leading to an agriculture or agriculture related degree.  Student must enroll in a minimum of twelve semester hours. Luling Foundation Healthcare Scholarship: This scholarship is in the amount of $2,000 to be dispersed over the fall and spring semesters of the student's freshman year.  It is not renewable It will be rewarded to one student pursuing a healthcare related degree from each county served by the Foundation (Caldwell, Gonzales, and Guadalupe).  Eligibility: the applicant must: A. be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.  B. be a resident of Caldwell, Gonzales, or Guadalupe County.  C. have at least an average academic record. D.have a good conduct record. E. have a high school degree or equivalent. F. attend a Texas College or university and participate in a curriculum leading to a healthcare or healthcare related degree.  Student must enroll in a minimum of twelve semester hours. G. Luling Foundation Trade/Vocational School Scholarship:This scholarship is a one-time amount of $1,000. to be dispersed before the Fall semester of the student's freshman year.  It is not renewable.  It will be rewarded to one student pursuing a trade/vocational degree/certification from each county served by the Foundation. (Caldwell, Gonzales, and Guadalupe).  Eligibility: the applicant must: A. be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.  B. be a resident of Caldwell, Gonzales, or Guadalupe County.  C. have at least an average academic record. D.have a good conduct record. E. have a high school degree or equivalent.  F. pursue a course of study at a trade/vocational school at least 4 months in length.  Enroll in at least 12 semester hours or the equivalent of a "full-time student" status.  Applications are in the counselor's area and the deadline for this scholarship is March 31, 2020.
 
Drs. Eric and Michelle Miller Scholarship: To be eligible for this scholarship the applicant must be a graduating College-bound senior with a desire to pursue a career related to math and/or science.  Applicant should show financial need.  Application process: Complete application (applications are in counselor's office). Attach an official high school transcript. Write a brief one-page essay describing future career goals, not to exceed 500 words. Attach a copy of the acceptance letter/offer from your future college or university. Include at least one letter of reference from your high school's math or science teacher.  Letters must be written on School Letterhead and be in a sealed envelope. High School Heisman Scholarship: Eligibility requirements 1)Students whose senior year of high school is the 2019-2020 academic year, graduating with the class of 2020. 2) Students who have a least a "B" average(3.0 GPA) during grades 9 , 10, 11. 3) Students who participate in at least one of 47 sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee or the National Federation of State High School Association. 4) Students who have participated in volunteer service, community involvement or leadership within his/her school or community. 5) Students who are a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. GVEC Scholarship:  Eligibility requirements: Applicant's partent(s) or legal guardian(s) must have an active GVEC electric account in their name; Applicant must be a 2019-2020 high school graduate and be able to meet all admission requirements of the college, university or trade school selected; Applicant must agree to attend classes as prescribed by the school's curriculum for the semester in which tuition is paid; for additional requirements go to online application and requirements.  Deadline is 11:59 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020.

Scholarships & Financial Aid offers academic scholarships for incoming freshman. You may apply for all University level scholarships through the ApplyTexas or Coalition application. The scholarship deadline for Fall is December 1.

Your test score is only one of many components considered in the review process. Additional factors for selection include, but are not limited to your leadership, community service, special talents, first generation college status, and academic achievement under difficult circumstances. Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Application is now available in the counselor's office.  For eligibility requirements carefully read the booklet entitled, San Antonio/Bear County Scholarship Opportunities for High School Seniors 2019-2020.  This booklet can be obtained from your counselor.  Deadline is Friday, November 1,2019.
 
The Sons of the Republic of Texas : The Texas History Essay Awards Program encourages Senior High School Students to write a Texas History Essay and enter to win one of three college awards.  Contest starts Sept 1 and ends January 31, 2020.  Contest rules and eligibility requirements may be picked up in the counselor's office.  
 
Texas Hill Country Wine Scholarship: This scholarship will award academic scholarships to Texas residents enrolled in a school or college program related to the wine industry.  Scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school senior and / or a college student in a related industry program.  Award of scholarship funds requires enrollment confirmation in approved program for the school or college.  Submission deadline is October 1, 2019.  Application can be picked up in the counselor's office.
 
Catholic Life Insurance: This program is available to members who are graduating high school seniors entering a college, university or trade school in fall 2020.  To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be a Catholic Life Insurance member at the time of application and throughout the scholarship period.  The student applying must be the insured.  Application may picked up at the counselor's office.  Deadline is March 2, 2020.
